Understanding Mental Health & Illness

 

In this course, students will gain a general understanding of mental health and illness, including the epidemiology of mental illness, the most prevalent mental disorders contemporary people are dealing with and their treatments. Students will then be introduced to the top 8 major mental disorders of our time. (2 hr/session - 12 week Course)

Group Counseling

 

This course will introduce students to group counseling practice and research. Students will discuss the theoretical foundations and relevant techniques for group counseling, such as psychoanalytic, cognitive behavioral, postmodern, and integrative approaches.

Introduction to Biblical Counseling

 

In this course, students will be introduced to the history of the Biblical counseling movement and learn some basic biblical counseling theory and techniques.

Family Counseling

 

The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to family, systems, and relational therapies. The intent is to provide an overview of theoretical concepts and intervention strategies associated with systemic and post-modern theories of family therapy
